Course Goal / Objective
The aim is to provide students with theoretical knowledge regarding monetary policy as well as fundamental concepts of central banking, and to ensure that students acquire sufficient knowledge and experience regarding the creation and circulation of money. Additionally, students will be equipped with the ability to analyze and interpret the effects of the policies implemented by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey on the national economy.
Course Content
This course will primarily examine the functions of central banks. Consequently, monetary policy tools will also be discussed. Topics such as the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey’s role as a key economic institution—including its methods of money creation and control of money supply and inflation, as well as its relationships with the financial and real sectors, the Treasury, and the external world will be covered, and the analytical balance sheet items of the central bank will be examined.
