Course Goal / Objective

To have comprehensive knowledge about the Turkish economy and to gain the ability to comment and analyze with current data about the Turkish economy. It also aims to teach the structure and functioning of the global economic system and how economic relations in the world are shaped.

Course Content

The development of the Turkish economy, the basic characteristics of the Turkish economy and its place in the world economy, the developments in the Turkish economy over the years, the developments and changes in the sectors of the Turkish economy, the economy of the Republican period and the economic situation during the World War II are examined. After the liberal process between 1950 and 1960, the focus will be on the principle of planned economy between the structural transformation process in 1980. The Turkish economy, the open economy process integrated into world markets after 1980, will be examined in detail. They will also cover topics such as international trade, economic crises, global growth, development and the world's expanding economic integration, and examine developments in developments in these broad regions. They also improve policy recommendations in the face of global economic problems and gain skills in analyzing the dynamics in the world economy.
