Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to analyze current theoretical and applied approaches in ergonomics, evaluate ergonomic problems using scientific methods, and develop human-centered, safe, efficient, and sustainable system designs.
Course Content
Graduate-level examination of human–task–environment interaction; current approaches in physical, cognitive, and organizational ergonomics; workload, human performance, user experience, human-centered design, sustainable ergonomics, and ergonomic risk assessment methods.
Course Precondition
There are no prerequisites. Basic knowledge of ergonomics, work study, human factors, occupational health and safety, or engineering design is recommended.
Resources
Current research articles in ergonomics, lecture presentations, and selected book chapters. Recommended sources: Ergonomi – Fatih C. Baballık; Introduction to Human Factors and Ergonomics – Wickens, Lee, Liu & Gordon Becker.
Notes
Recent academic articles, case studies, ergonomic risk assessment reports, national and international ergonomics standards, industrial applications, and student research presentations.
