Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to provide general information on special education, types of disability and inclusive education practices.

Course Content

Key concepts in special education; the principles and historical development of special education; legal regulations concerning special education; diagnosis and assessment in special education; individualisation of instruction; inclusion and support services in special education; parental involvement in education and collaboration with families; characteristics of different groups with disabilities and special needs; educational approaches and teaching strategies for different groups; effective strategies for classroom management and behaviour management.
