Course Goal / Objective

To be able to examine the concept of religion from a philosophical perspective by recognizing and learning the fundamental concepts and problems of the philosophy of religion. From this perspective, to gain a critical viewpoint by analyzing the individual concepts of the philosophy of religion and what the philosophy of religion as a whole entails.

Course Content

The definition and scope of the philosophy of religion; the relationship between belief and knowledge; classical and contemporary arguments for the existence of God; the problem of evil; debates on freedom and fate; religious experience; religious language and meaning; the relationship between religion and ethics; and the philosophical evaluation of different belief systems.
