Course Goal / Objective
The purpose of the course is to convey the basic components and dynamics of scientific research in social sciences to students. It aims to provide students with the ability to design a research using different frameworks, qualitative and quantitative research methods for the acquisition and interpretation of scientific knowledge.
Course Content
The content of the course consists of the aims, tools and methods of social sciences. In the course, first of all, the basic ontological and epistemological approaches, which can be seen as the foundations of social science research, and the ways of accessing/obtaining knowledge are examined. Afterwards, research methods that give scientific studies a systematic structure are discussed. In addition to these, the course focuses on the stages and processes that form the main lines and components of scientific studies.
