Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to gain knowledge about the routes of microbial spread, the infection chain and methods of breaking this chain, and the preparation of instruments, equipment and materials used in dental clinics and laboratories.
Course Content
This course covers topics such as microorganisms, infections, infectious diseases of importance in dentistry, cleaning in dental units, maintenance of units, hand hygiene, general sterilization methods, sterilization control steps, sterilization process stages, monitoring of sterilization, methods used for instrument and material sterilization in oral and dental health centers, disinfection and sterilization in dentistry, and preparation of instruments for sterilization in dentistry.
