Course Goal / Objective
To provide nursing students with knowledge, awareness, and fundamental practical skills in patient safety culture, risk management, medical error prevention, infection control, medication safety, patient identification, communication safety, and incident reporting systems.
Course Content
The core concepts of patient safety include safety culture, national and international patient safety goals, medical errors, incident reporting, risk assessment, infection prevention, medication and transfusion safety, patient identification, fall and pressure injury prevention, surgical safety, communication, and teamwork.
