Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to explore the place and use of oral and local history, as employed in modern historiography, in social studies education through various applications. This will foster students' awareness of their environment and enable social studies teachers to learn how to effectively incorporate such practices into a learning environment.

Course Content

This course covers the use of evidence in social studies teaching, the elements of evidence, oral history, the development of oral history, oral history according to its usage characteristics, oral history applications, local history, the development of local history, and applications related to local history. Basic information on the subject matter and general distribution will be provided, and the use of evidence distributions, local history, and oral history applications will be demonstrated in social studies lessons.
