Course Goal / Objective

The aim is to increase knowledge of the fundamental principles of irrigation engineering, including water application and distribution systems, efficient water use, and approaches used in the design, installation, and operation of irrigation systems.

Course Content

Classification of irrigation systems, factors influencing irrigation system selection; soil moisture content, water requirements; irrigation intervals; irrigation scheduling, design principles of surface, sprinkler and drip irrigation systems.
