Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge of energy and materials technologies; to develop an understanding of the importance of materials and energy systems used in daily life; to raise awareness of contemporary topics such as nanotechnology, smart materials, and sustainable technologies; and to enhance students' ability to evaluate the relationships among energy, the environment, and technology. In addition, the course aims to provide students with a fundamental perspective on future energy and materials technologies.

Course Content

This introductory course covers the fundamental concepts of energy and materials science, the basic principles of advanced materials and nanotechnology, energy generation and storage technologies, sustainable materials, and recent technological developments in these fields. The course also addresses the relationship among energy, the environment, and technology, as well as fundamental approaches to future energy and materials technologies.
