To have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00 and 240 ECTS credits.

Access to Further Studies

Our graduates have the opportunity to specialize by applying to master's and doctoral programs both domestically and internationally after completing their undergraduate education. They can continue their scientific and professional development through academic exchange programs, research projects, and international education opportunities. Within the scope of the ERASMUS program, graduates can participate in internship programs in countries where our university has agreements, for career planning purposes (within one year after graduation).

Internship

Biology Department students are required to complete a 30-working-day compulsory internship after completing six semesters. They are considered to have successfully completed their internship after presenting their internship activities within the scope of the Compulsory Internship Practice course taken in the seventh semester and receiving a passing grade. 1. Applied Course

The practical courses of Biology Department students are carried out in different environments depending on the content of the course. The main practical training environments are as follows: Biology laboratories: General biology, cell biology, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, botany, and zoology laboratories. Research laboratories: Laboratories where advanced experimental studies and research projects are conducted. Greenhouses and experimental gardens: Areas used for plant cultivation, plant physiology, and ecology practices. Field studies: Forests, wetlands, coastal areas, national parks, and other natural environments where flora and fauna observations and sampling studies are carried out. Museums and herbariums: Facilities where plant and animal specimens are examined, classified, and identified. Relevant institutions and organizations: When required, practical training is provided in hospital laboratories, environmental analysis laboratories, food analysis laboratories, wastewater treatment facilities, and research institutes.

Work Placement

There is no specific course or application related to "workplace training" in our department. However, during the internship presentations of students who complete their internships, topics such as professional ethics in institutions/organizations, workplace dynamics, work ethics, the importance of teamwork, sense of belonging to the workplace, the changing aspects of occupational health and safety, and individual responsibilities are addressed.

Double Major, Additional Major & Exchange Possibilities

As the Biology program, we have cooperation protocols that provide opportunities for Double Major and Minor programs with departments such as Archaeology, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Sciences.

Employment Opportunities

Our graduates obtain a Bachelor's Degree. They can work in healthcare institutions and organizations; medical research and support units; environmental protection and control, ecological planning, and related fields; institutions and organizations conducting biotechnology studies; research and production activities related to hydrobiology and aquaculture; national park management and wildlife management fields; biology education and teaching activities in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, private schools, and private tutoring centers after obtaining pedagogical formation training; Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies; agriculture and forestry fields as basic scientists; food control laboratories; treatment facilities; biomedical research areas; the production and quality control of pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical raw materials, and cosmetic products; vector organism control studies; universities; industrial R&D laboratories; industrial quality control units; and research activities in military and technological institutions.
