Field Crops Master´s Degree is a program for students who completed undergraduate study in the Department of Field Crops or another department of agriculture faculty and also graduated students from departments of other faculties who agreed to participate in a one-year preparatory program that provides education about topics related to the study areas of field crops. Duration of education and training program is a one year course and thesis write up period of one year, two years.

Feature & Definition
Field Crops Master´s Degree program aims to equip agriculture engineers with a deeper and detailed knowledge on one of the study areas of field crops enabling them to do reseach at an advanced level of expertise and to interpret the outcomes of the research results. Program students develop and update their knowledge of a specific subject about cereals, grain legumes, industrial crops or meadow-pasture and forage crops and by doing the field or laboratory research on that issue, they offer the findings of the research as Master´s thesis.

Goals
To raise specialized on field crops and equipped with contemporary knowledge, to conduct research towards the solution of local, national and international problems and to share the information with scientific world. Our department provides master program in plant breeding, cereals, pulse crops, cash crops, forage crops and rangelands subjects. Main targets of department are to increase the theoretical knowledge gained during undergraduate program, increase the capability of synthesis and analysis skill in these subjects, follow latest technology on national and international bases about his subject, gain the ability to solve the problem about his subject and also improve the ability to analyze the data he collected and present the results, information and skills based on scientific bases in national and international arena.
Objectives
1- With the expanding and deepening of the knowledge in the field of industrial crops ability to access information, to evaluate information, to interpret and apply by doing scientific research, 2- Ability to use scientific data in the field of Field Crops by using existing data, to use with scientific, social and ethical responsibility, 3-Ability to teach and control the scientific, social and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting and announcing the data related to field crops, 4- Ability to transfer the current developments in the field crops field and their studies to the groups in and out of the field systematically in written, oral and visual form, 5- To provide students with the knowledge and skills to make them successful in their academic careers 6-Ability to establish advanced level of written and verbal communication in the field of specialization with the employees in the field, with the wider scientific communities outside the field and in the general public as well as in their own language and in a foreign language.
Specific Admission Requirements
The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, grade point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.

The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the master’s degree of Field Crops.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
This program consists of at least seven credit courses with a total of not less than 21 credits, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis. Seminar course and thesis work are not included in the credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters). Provided that he/she is successful in the thesis exam, makes the changes requested by the jury, if any, and fulfills other conditions, the student who submits three more copies of the master's thesis, written and bound in accordance with the thesis writing rules, to the relevant institute within one month from the date of taking the thesis examination is awarded with a M.Sc.diploma.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and an adequate English language proficiency.
