General Information
At the end of the program in which educational activities at MSc level are conducted, the students gain either "Certificated Agricultural Engineer" (if they have "Agricultural Engineer" diplomas) or "Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Specialist" title (if they have BSc diplomas from other programs) and they become proficient to use these titles legally. During the program, the students must complete 120 ECTS, 72 ECTS from MSc and Research Area and Seminar and the other 48 ECTS from thesis. Having prepared a MSc Thesis in different areas of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition such as Soil Survey and Mapping, Soil Genesis, Soil Chemistry, Soil Physics, Soil Mineralogy, Soil Biology, Soil Fertility, and Plant Nutrition, the students graduate as a specialist fulfilling the requirements of either the governmental or private sectors or graduate to serve as a researcher in the academic world.

The Program aims to educate either "Certificated Agricultural Engineer" or "Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Specialist" at a specialist level to fulfil the expectations and needs of governmental and private sectors and to prepare the students to gain adequate academic skills, for the PhD programme. One of the basic targets of the Program is to equip students with knowledge on classification of soils as well as enabling them to use this knowledge on ecological principles and conservation of them against environmental pollution and misuses, preparation of healthy and balanced plant nutrition programs suitable for our ecological system by carrying on soil fertility and plant nutritional studies, and sustainable utilization and management of soil, plant, and water resources, at specialist level. Moreover, laboratories and greenhouses at Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Department and research fields at Agricultural Research and Application Farm located next to the campus (The region Çukurova, one of the most fertile three plains in the world) provide students with better educational facilities.

For sustainable environment and plant production, the training of experts in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition
Objectives
Using the scientific truths, training of agricultural engineers who are experts in providing solutions to the soil-water-environmental problems, ensuring the use of the soils in accordance with their characteristics and improving soil fertility to increase crop productivity depending on the principles of sustainable production
Specific Admission Requirements
The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, grade point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.
Qualification Awarded
The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the master’s degree of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
This program consists of at least seven credit courses with a total of not less than 21 credits, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis. Seminar course and thesis work are not included in the credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters). Provided that he/she is successful in the thesis exam, makes the changes requested by the jury, if any, and fulfills other conditions, the student who submits three more copies of the master's thesis, written and bound in accordance with the thesis writing rules, to the relevant institute within one month from the date of taking the thesis examination, with a thesis. graduate diploma is awarded.

The graduates of the program can work for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Ziraat Bank(State bank to support agriculture), State Water Affairs, Municipalities, Agro-Chemical Companies, Official and Private Laboratories for Soil, Plant and Fertilizer Analyses, Fertilizer Industry, Private Farms and Greenhouses as well as a Franchiser for seed and agro-chemicals. Moreover, the Agricultural Engineers authorized for the preparation of Soil Survey and Mapping, Soil Conservation and Land Use Projects which are obligatory according to the Act for Soil Conservation and Land Use numbered 5403 are the graduates of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Program.
