The aim of the PhD program of the Department of Statistics is to train Statisticians with high academic and scientific quality in the professional field. The language of education is Turkish.

Feature & Definition

Department of Statistics PhD program, for students admitted with a master's degree with a thesis, at least seven courses with a total of at least twenty-one credits and not less than 60 ECTS in one academic year; consists of seminar course, specialization courses, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis work and cannot be less than 240 ECTS credits.

Goals

The aim of the doctoral program; It is to provide students with the ability to conduct independent research, to interpret scientific events with a broad and deep perspective, to analyze, and to determine the necessary steps to reach new syntheses.

Objectives

The thesis to be prepared at the end of the doctoral study must fulfill at least one of the qualities of bringing innovation to science, developing a new scientific method, and applying a known method to a new field.

Specific Admission Requirements

It is done according to Çukurova University Graduate School of Sciences, Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Qualification Awarded

The student who is successful in the thesis defense and meets the other conditions determined by the related institute administrative board is entitled to receive a doctoral diploma.
