General Information
The program offers courses such as language teaching methodology, first/second language acquisition, discourse analysis and research methods. The courses are designed to equip learners with skills and knowledge to conduct scientific research in the field of English Language Teaching. Moreover, thanks to seminar courses which provides learners a context for conducting small-scale studies and present them to public. The evaluation in the program is based on written exams and project studies.

Feature & Definition
The program covers theoretical courses within the field of ELT. The program also includes research methods to enable learners to conduct both quantitative and qualitative studies in their majors. Besides from this obligatory course, various elective courses are available among which candidates can choose in line their preferred areas of interests. In addition to these courses, the candidates are asked to give a seminar.

Objectives
The program aims to introduce theoretical and methodological issues in ELT. It mainly focuses on current issues within the area of foreign language teaching and learning. The graduates can work as teachers or researchers. They can also continue to their doctorate studies.
Specific Admission Requirements
The program accepts learners in accordance with the requirements of Ç.U. Regulations for Graduate Program. Thus, the candidates are obliged to provide their ALES, GPA and foreign language grade. They are also asked for a written and oral exam.

The successful candidates graduate from the program with MA degree
