'The Ph.D. Program in Architecture started to recruit students in 2014-2015 Education Year Spring Semester depending on the Cukurova University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences.'

Feature & Definition

The aim of this course is to provide the student with the ability to conduct independent research, to analyze scientific events with a broad and deep perspective, to make comments, to analyze and to determine the necessary steps to achieve new syntheses. The thesis will be prepared at the end of the doctoral study; Bringing innovation to science, Developing a new scientific method, Applying a known method to a new field must fulfill at least one of its qualifications. The PhD program consists of at least seven courses, a proficiency exam, a dissertation proposal and a thesis. The doctoral program includes at least seven credit courses with a total of at least twenty-one credits for students admitted with a master's degree with a thesis and not less than 60 ECTS for one academic year; The seminar course consists of specialization area courses, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis work and cannot be less than 120 ECTS credits. The maximum number of courses available in the PhD program is ten. Additional courses may be taken with the request of the student and the advisor, with the proposal of the department / department including the decision of the department / academic board and the approval of the board of directors of the institute. The seminar course is held during the course period and is not included in the credit load. At least two of the courses can be selected from postgraduate courses provided that they are not taken during graduate education. A student cannot take more than 15 credits in a semester except for a specialization course and seminar. Each semester, the thesis study is made. Thesis monitoring committee monitoring the thesis work; The evaluation of the thesis work is done by the thesis jury. The courses can be selected from the courses offered by other institutes of the University or other higher education institutions with the recommendation of the relevant advisor and the approval of the institute board of directors. The number of courses that can be selected from other higher education institutions can be at most two. (6) Undergraduate courses are not counted towards the course load and doctoral credit. (7) Doctorate programs cannot be opened as secondary education. (8) Multiple doctoral programs cannot be enrolled and continued at the same time. ' The period of completion of the Ph.D. program is eight semesters maximum for eight semesters regardless of whether or not it has been registered every semester. The maximum period for completing the courses required for the PhD program is four semesters for those who are accepted with a master's degree. Students who fail to successfully complete credit courses or who fail to achieve a minimum GPA of the higher education institution are dismissed from the higher education institution. However, the duration of the course may be shortened by two semesters provided that the necessary credits are provided. The period of the students who have completed the semester can be reduced by one semester if the course duration, total number of required courses and course credit and the ECTS course credit condition are fulfilled. The duration of the thesis starts on the date on which the thesis summary / proposal is accepted at the institute board. The duration of the thesis cannot be less than four semesters. Students who successfully complete their credit courses, who pass the proficiency exam and who are successful in their thesis proposal, but fail to complete the thesis study by the end of the twelve semesters, will be dismissed from the higher education institution.
