Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, is an interdisciplinary English PhD program established in 2020 under Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences of Çukurova University. Faculty of Agriculture and Department of Food Engineering are the academic members of the program.

Sustainable Agriculture and Food Safety (Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security) is an interdisciplinary program and provides education in English. The program, which includes many fields of science such as animal husbandry, aquaculture, soil-plant nutrition, irrigation, food quality and safety, plant health, ecological agriculture systems, mechanization and computer systems, plant breeding and seed growing and agricultural economics, is a unit that increases the effectiveness of sustainable agriculture. It was opened due to the need for interdisciplinary approaches that ensure food security by ensuring high quality and high yields from the field, and aiming to reduce losses by minimizing food losses throughout the supply chain.

Goals

EA1. As personnel trained in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, they continue their careers in different units such as agricultural production, food production, storage and transportation to the consumer on the basis of sustainable agriculture of national and international organizations. EA2. By bringing together the scientific knowledge of different disciplines of agriculture and food education, they contribute to research and development activities for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security at an advanced level. EA3. They have the qualifications to work both in research institutions and universities.

Objectives

Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security (Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security) is a program that provides PhD education to national and international students and while doing this, aims to teach and implement Sustainable Agricultural Science (Agroeology) and its components in order to provide the sustainability of agriculture in our country and in the world.
