General Information
Ceramics Program is a unit of four-year undergraduate education which is based on research, practice and project, aims to educate qualified artists and designers. The program evaluates, hand-eye coordination, handling and forming of material, creative ability to develop original and aesthetic art and design projects by using the theoretical and practical knowledge. Feature & Definition
Ceramics Program started to educate students in 2000. In the program, classrooms for theoretical courses, drawing, design, and computer labs, industrial and plastic modeling studios, technology labs, ceramic kilns, plaster and clay wheels and some other equipments are provided for the students to improve and develop their knowledge and skills. In the program it is supported to share the knowledge and developments about ceramic art and design by seminars, conferences, workshops and technical visits. Through studio and factory internships, is given the provided to gain experience in ceramic industry and ceramic art. Students make projects for graduation exhibition, end of the year exhibitions and is given the opportunity to participate in national and international exhibitions and competitions. It is offered to get a double major degree or a lateral degree diploma by taking courses of the other departments of the Faculty. Also it is possible to take advantage of education in European universities for one or two semesters within the Erasmus student exchange program.

Goals
The aim is to educate designers and artist candidates who have universal ideas and values by providing opportunities and opportunities for the qualified teachers and students to develop their knowledge and skills in the field by exploring with artistic and scientific approach, open to innovations in ceramic art, design and technology.

To strengthen the activities of our academic staff, students and graduates on national and global platforms in cooperation with national and international institutions and institutions, preserving the original and contemporary structure of our university, which is powered by the unity and interaction of art, design and science.
Specific Admission Requirements
As announced in ÖSYM's Guide to Higher Education Institutions (YKS) and Quotas, This program accepts students through the scores obtained from aptitude tests administered by each program and determined by the relevant Executive Boards and endorsed by Çukurova University Executive Board.

Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a "Ceramic" undergraduate diploma

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
In order to graduate from this program, it is necessary to have at least 30 ECTS for each semester, a total of at least 240 ECTS, and a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and to be successful in all courses.
Access to Further Studies
Students who successfully complete their undergraduate education in this program can apply to master's, doctoral programs or proficiency in art programs in related fields and continue their education.
Internship
In this program, there are Factory Internships and Workshop Internships, each of which is 20 working days and compulsory, during the summer period.
Applied Course
There are no applied courses in this program.
Work Placement
On-the-job training is not compulsory in the program. However, by gaining knowledge on all subjects related to the field of ceramics, our students are trained in such a way that they have the necessary skills for the production to be carried out in the industry and in private workshops. After graduation, they can work as designers and freelance artists.
Double Major, Additional Major & Exchange Possibilities
Students who are successful in this program find Double Major/Minor Program opportunities within the scope of "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer". In addition, students have the opportunity to increase their personal competencies such as academic, foreign language and general culture with the Erasmus+ exchange program.
Employment Opportunities
When students graduate, they can work in the ceramics industry by producing/designing in the fields of Industrial Ceramics or Ceramic Technology in factories, or they can work in workshops, get a formation certificate from the Faculty of Education, and can also pursue an academic career and teach in Higher Education Institutions in their field of expertise.
