Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to inform students about contents published by periodical publications such as newspaper. Texts genres in newspaper and magazine are expressed as weekly. Students know the newspaper text genres, and can produce such kind of text genres in their professionel life, and also know how they can approach these genres in the scientific researches.
Course Content
Explaining why we need genres, this course focuses on genre. In the course, students are informed about texts genres published in newspapers. Such newspaper texts genres as news, some news genres, column, commend, reporting, interview, travel writting and articles are examined, and their structural and discoursive dimensions are discussed. Moreover, how relevant genres were formed and changed in the historical process are analyzed.
