Course Goal / Objective
Introducing corpora to pre-service English language teachers before they start their career as a language teacher. Introducing how they can use corpora in language teaching with real life examples and doing practice together. Teaching students how to use corpora as an authentic material to develop language teaching materials doing practice together.
Course Content
Introducing corpus; teaching corpora types and use of them in language teaching; introducing some concordance programs used for analysing corpora; exploring register differences by the means of corpora; teaching students how corpora can be used to evaluate language teaching materials and doing some practice; teaching students how to use corpora to develop language teaching materials and doing practice.
