Course Goal / Objective

The microbiologic, haematologic, parasitologic and histolologic diagnostic methods in used on fish diseases, laboratory researches for diagnostic aim.

Course Content

The microbiologic, haematologic, parasitologic and histolologic diagnostic methods in used on fish diseases, laboratory researches for diagnostic aim. Also, autopsy technics on unhealthy fish, macroskobic investigations on fish and material supply technics for laboratory researches.

LO01 Explains the devices, teams and equipment that must be present in fish disease diagnostic laboratories and their working principles
LO02 Comments on the collection of sick fish from their environment, their transportation to the laboratory environment and the application of macroscopic and autopsy techniques on the fish in the first stage.
LO03 Discusses the microbiological laboratory tests that should be applied in fish diseases.
LO04 Diagnoses parasitic fish diseases and identifies protozoan parasites and some endoparasites.
LO05 Understands the importance of hematology in revealing fish health and explains some hematological parameters that are considered as indicator parameters in disease diagnosis.
LO06 Understands normal fish tissue and defines histological examinations accordingly in order to reveal the damage caused by fish pathogens in tissues.
