Course Goal / Objective

To teach the fundamental principles of electricity and magnetism supported by various laboratory experiments.

Course Content

Electric field, Gauss' law, electric potential, capacitance and dielectric, current an resistance, direct current circuits, magnetic fields, sources of magnetic field, Faraday's law, inductance. In addition the following experiments are carried out by each student during the semester and the student submits a report for each experiment on time: 1- Van De Graaff Generator and the Charge Concept, 2- Investigation of AC-DC waves by Oscilloscope, 3- Equipotential Curves, 4- Reading Resistors and Ohm's Law, 5- Series and Parallel Connection of Resistors, 6- Charging and Discharging Capacitors, 7- Wheatstone Bridge, 8- Current Scale, 9- Faraday's Induction Law and Transformers.
