Course Goal / Objective

It aims to inform about the importance, protection and conservation of genetic resources and their use in breeding.

Course Content

Definition and importance of genetic resources, gene centers of vegetables, Turkey's potential for vegetable gene resources and researches on this subject, management strategies of genetic resources in vegetables (survey, collecting, recording, creating a collection, morphological and molecular characterization, conservation and utilization) and usage possibilities in vegetable breeding.
