Course Goal / Objective
To teach theoretical basis of agricultural ecology, the design of alternative agricultural systems and technologies, alternative production systems, ecological management of ınsect pests, pathogens, and weeds.
Course Content
The methods and practices of agroecology based on sustainability of agricultural and food production systems including animal, soil and plant vegetation. It needs more environmentally and ecologically friendly methods to provide sustainability. While doing all, certified agriculture, rich crop rotation, integrated pest management methods, certified seed, fertilization according to the results of analysis, irrigation and consumer-producer-researcher interaction are so important. Additionally, use and protect of sources and consumer's education and awareness are the other subject of agroecology. In this course, an agroecology term as a social and practical movement and its principles will be discussed.
