Course Goal / Objective
Gains knowledge of the concepts and practices of Sustainable Farm Management
Course Content
Sustainable Farm Management concepts and practices; interaction between agricultural production and environment; hidden costs (externalities) of crop and animal production, different dimensions of sustainability: economy, environment and community; financial sustainability of farms; strategic and tactic management of farms; business planning, usin partial budgets, incorporating environmental indicators and environmental values into farm business analysis, sustainability indicators, environment-profit trade-off analysis models, efficiency analysis, the evaluation of alternative farm management strategies for sustainability
