Course Goal / Objective

Within the scope of this course, the calculation of plant water consumption, irrigation programming, effective use of water resources in irrigation, Evapotranspiration calculations and factors affecting evapotranspiration are explained. In addition, information is given about the soil-plant-water relations. Calculations of plant water consumption such as pan evaporation and FAO Penman-Monteith methods etc. are taught.

Course Content

In this context, general information about evaporation, transpiration and evapotranspiration, Factors affecting evapotranspiration, Reference and Potential evapotranspiration, Plant water consumption and irrigation water requirement determination, Irrigation programming, Pan evaporation method, FAO Penman-Monteith method, Plant coefficients used in plant water consumption, information about factors affecting plant coefficients, soil-plant-water relations and yield response factor informations were the contents of the course.
