Course Goal / Objective

To teach students the political, socio-economic and administrative changes, events and their results in the Middle East from the 18th century to the present. To make students comprehend the political situation and developments of today's Middle East World in the context of cause and effect and to consolidate their political knowledge about the Middle East.

LO02 Knows and explains the cultural values ​​and lifestyles of people living in the Middle East Geography.
LO03 Knows and explains the causes and consequences of the recent and contemporary political developments in the Middle East.
LO04 Knows the imperialist policies and results of the great powers that ruled the world at the beginning of the 20th century on the Middle East.
LO05 Gains knowledge about the main problems of today's Middle East such as Religious tension/sectarian problems, the problems created by oil, the problem of water use, the Arab-Israeli problem and the problems created by the Arab spring.
LO06 20th and 21st centuries in the Middle East. Knows and learns the causes and consequences of terrorist acts, mass uprisings, management changes and large-scale wars.
LO07 Learns and explains Turkey's place in the Middle East and its foreign policy since its establishment.
LO08 Knows the nature and results of relations with Middle Eastern countries and societies in terms of Turkey's social history, ethnic and cultural situation.
