Course Goal / Objective

In this course, it is aimed to introduce the ceramic cultures that were used by the communities in Anatolia, the Mediterranean and the Aegean world in the second millennium BC.

Course Content

The ceramics developed by the cultures that developed in Anatolia, Mediterranean and Aegean Regions in the second millennium BC will be introduced and their importance in intercultural interaction will be tried to be revealed. In this context, the Assyrian Trade Colonies Age, Old Hittite, Middle Hittite and Hittite Empire Period ceramics, which affected Central Anatolia from the beginning of the second millennium BC to the end, will be emphasized, and the extent of interaction with the surrounding cultural regions will be understood in the light of these ceramics. Again, the Aegean cultures that developed in this period and Cyprus ceramics, whose examples are known in Anatolia, are introduced, and their role and connections in commercial relations constitute the main subject of this course.
