Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge, to instil the awareness of protecting the cultural heritage of traditional Turkish sports and to understand the rich structure of these sports.
Course Content
It includes the historical dimension of our traditional Turkish sports, socio-cultural situation, evaluation of the current situation and discussion of new approaches, application, organisation and teaching of selected traditional sports (wrestling, javelin, horse riding, sledge etc.).
