Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students with a research-based basis on religion-state relations and religious education with examples from world countries; to provide students with basic knowledge about different approaches to religion-state relations and religious education in various world countries and to develop their ability to evaluate these issues.

Course Content

Discussions on religious education and teaching at school, the status of religious lessons according to different countries, models/approaches in religious education and teaching, learning/teaching approach based on religion/sect, confensional, learning/teaching approach that is not based on religion/sect: non-confessional, religion(s). The model in which information about ) is given in other courses, religious education and teaching practices in some world countries, religious education and training in European countries, religious education and training in America, religious education and training in the Far East and Asia, religious education and training in Middle Eastern countries. Comparison of religious education in Turkey and practices in some other countries
