Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to introduce the concepts of sports pharmacy, to have information about athlete health and ethical and rational drug use in sports, prohibited drugs and the role of the pharmacist in the fight against doping.
Course Content
The role and importance of the pharmacist in athlete health, Healthy nutrition, performance and food supplements, Problems in drug use in sports: sports, health and medicine, Sports pharmacy and performance-enhancing drugs, Anti-doping policies in sports: WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) Current status of WADA banned drug list and drug properties, Doping control practices, Drug use in professional athletes, Complementary and alternative medicines in sports.
