Course Goal / Objective
In order to gain a deeper understanding of the historical development of concepts and rules in Roman private law, this course first examines the different periods of the Roman Empire and its legal system. The emergence, evolution, and influence of legal institutions, rules, and concepts from the establishment of the Roman Empire to the present day are analyzed in detail. In this context, the contributions of Roman Law, particularly in the fields of Obligations and Property Law, to private law are evaluated, and a comparative analysis with contemporary legal rules is conducted.
