Course Goal / Objective

Comparative Law course aims to provide students with the competence to evaluate the universal and local dimensions of legal norms from a critical perspective and to produce legal solutions by analysing the basic principles, similarities and differences, historical and cultural contexts of different legal systems. systems and thus can understand legal logic.

Course Content

Comparative Law course provides students with a multidimensional legal perspective by analysing the basic structure, functioning and development of different legal systems. Within the scope of the course, the aim and methods of comparative law are discussed and Continental European, Anglo-American, Islamic Law and traditional legal systems are analysed. Finally, the transformation of legal systems is evaluated within the framework of globalisation, law reforms and international law interactions.

LO08 Makes a critical evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of a particular regulation in one legal system by comparing it with another system.
