Course Goal / Objective

With this course, it is aimed to examine the legal problems brought by information technologies and to gain the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary in this field by seeking solutions to basic internet and legal problems.

Course Content

The content of this course includes Forensic Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Discussions on Freedom of Expression on the Internet and Digital Activism, Information and Communication Technologies Law Applications, Information Security Law, Dangers from the Internet and Their Effects on Our Social Life, Law and Technology, Data Protection Law.

LO01 Defines basic information law concepts such as cybercrime, personal data, digital contracts and electronic commerce.
LO02 Internet Law No. 5651, Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Turkish Criminal Code No. 5237 lists the basic principles of cybercrimes.
LO03 Explains the basic principles in international regulations such as GDPR, Budapest Convention on Cybercrime.
LO04 Explains the legal validity of electronic contracts and the obligations of the parties.
LO05 Discusses the legal dimensions of new technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.
LO06 Evaluates compliance with copyrights in digital content sharing.
LO07 Compares IT law regulations in Turkey and in the world.
LO08 Evaluate the adequacy of existing IT law regulations from a critical perspective.
