Course Goal / Objective

The aim is to understand the fundamental concepts of game theory and analytical methods to comprehend how strategic interactions are formed. Topics such as Nash Equilibrium, the Prisoner’s Dilemma, mixed strategies, perfectly competitive games, repeated games, and information-based games are covered to model and analyze various strategic situations.

Course Content

The course content includes an introduction to game theory, covering fundamental concepts and analyzing strategic interactions within the framework of Nash Equilibrium. Classic games such as the Prisoner’s Dilemma are examined to evaluate players' strategic decision-making processes. The concept of mixed strategies is explored, along with discussions on the characteristics of perfectly competitive games. Finite and infinite repeated games are analyzed to assess the strategic outcomes of repeated interactions. The differences between incomplete and complete information games are addressed, emphasizing the role of information in strategic decision-making. Finally, the fundamental distinctions between static and dynamic games are evaluated, examining the impact of the time dimension on strategic decision-making.
