Course Goal / Objective

It aims to provide the ability to use quantitative decision-making techniques, define problems, and especially build and analyze models.

Course Content

Deterministic and probabilistic inventory models are examined, with a focus on fundamental probability distributions, including normal, binomial, and Poisson distributions. Single-channel and multi-channel queuing systems are analyzed to evaluate the performance of waiting lines. Decision processes are modeled using deterministic dynamic programming and Markov chains. Decision analysis and game theory concepts are explored to study strategic decision-making methods. Simulation-based modeling techniques are applied, and classical optimization problems are solved to analyze constrained and unconstrained problems. Additionally, nonlinear programming algorithms and quadratic programming topics are covered to assess optimization processes.
