Course Goal / Objective
To have information about the political-theological sects that emerged in the early periods of the history of Islamic thought and the general characteristics of the religious understandings in which they are included, to gain analysis, interpretation and comparison skills related to the field.
Course Content
Differences in the understanding of religion and the reasons for the differentiation; The place of the human element in the formation of the understanding of religion; Reactive-tribal understanding of religion; Rational-historical understanding of religion; Traditionalist-conservative understanding of religion; Political-charismatic leadership understanding of religion; The exploratory-secluded understanding of religion; representatives and views of different religious understandings in history and today.
