Course Goal / Objective

Chemistry, chemical structure of ceramics, its properties, crystal structure, the effects of crystal structure on color, ceramic color, colorant properties, use of colorant in ceramic glazes, paint concepts, color measurement methods and chemical preparations are taught for ceramists.

Course Content

Properties of all chemical substances used in ceramic slip, their structures, their use, understanding the relationship between chemical materials and ceramic structure, process of firing, behavior of chemical compounds.
