Course Goal / Objective

This course explores the meaning of what art and a work of art are by explaining the concepts of art and aesthetics. Evaluates works of art in terms of form, content and essence. It creates different value areas by explaining art theories (reflective, expressive, formalist, functional, etc.).

Course Content

This course includes the concepts of art and aesthetics and the relations of art philosophy with other disciplines (aesthetics, art criticism, art history, art sociology, art psychology, etc.). It establishes the connection between the definition of art by explaining art theories, the origin and function of art. It also covers common views prevailing in contemporary art.
