Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable the participants to acquire information on the theoretical principles of ESP; learning theories in ESP; approaches to ESP course or syllabus design; designing and developing ESP materials; the state of ESP and English for academic purposes in Turkey and elsewhere.

Historical development of ESP, learning theories, needs analysis, materials design and development in ESP, designing and evaluating an ESP programme, content-based leartning
