Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to utilize corpus-oriented methods within the context of language learning and teaching by employing corpus analysis software and applying discovery-based learning strategies. Through the topics covered, students will gain the following competencies: The ability to use and analyze corpora for linguistic analyses, The ability to leverage corpus data in foreign language teaching, The capacity to make corpus-driven inferences.

Course Content

This course covers the use of existing written and spoken corpora in language teaching through educational approaches. The following topics will be addressed: Fundamental concepts of corpus linguistics and its relation to other fields, Applications of corpora in education and language teaching, Introduction to and usage of corpus analysis software, Designing language materials based on corpus data.
