Course Goal / Objective

The general aim of this course is to teach prospective teachers; Basic concepts of environmental education, purpose, importance and history of environmental education, environmental problems, sustainable development and goals, environmental values and ethics, relationship between children and the environment, approach to environmental education, programs and projects, methods that can be used with the role of teachers and stakeholders in environmental education and techniques, planning, implementing and evaluating environmental education activities.

Course Content

Basic concepts of environmental education; environmental awareness; environmental problems; importance of environmental education; environmental education in early childhood; environmental education approaches in early childhood; environmental education programs and projects; methods and techniques that can be used in early childhood environmental education; Planning and implementation of environmental education activities for preschool children (living creatures in nature, plants, air, soil, water, recycling, energy saving, environmental pollution, natural disasters, etc.), The role of the teacher and family in early childhood environmental education; sustainable development and sustainable development goals; activity planning for sustainable development in early childhood education.
