Course Goal / Objective
It is aimed that the student will be able to comprehend the term traditional space, analyze traditional space examples from the world, evaluate the effects of the values in Turkish life culture on the design and use of traditional Turkish houses, analyze the typology and physical formation characteristics of the traditional Turkish house, and interpret the cultural values affecting these features.
Course Content
The concept of traditional space and examples of traditional spaces from the world, the effects of the values that have a place in Turkish life culture from ancient times to the recent past on the design and use of traditional Turkish houses, the typology of the traditional Turkish house, physical formation features and cultural values affecting these features, detailed examination of traditional Turkish house examples in different provinces of Turkey
