Course Goal / Objective

To raise awareness about the risks of non-structural elements in the interior during the earthquake process. Identifying non-structural elements in the interior, knowing the risks related to them and taking precautions. To prepare a design proposal for improvement for real spaces. To design a space with reduced risk in terms of non-structural elements.

Course Content

Determining the earthquake threats, risks and precautions in the selected place, defining the structural and non-structural elements in the interior during the earthquake process, providing training on earthquake awareness. Hazards, risks and precautions for windows and doors, walls and suspended ceilings, interior trim and stairs, furniture and accessories, lighting elements, equipment and elevator modules. Safe furniture design for disadvantaged groups, space design with reduced risk in terms of non-structural elements during the earthquake.

The course has no prerequisites.
