Course Goal / Objective

Aimed to teach herbal poisons that can cause poisoning events according to their chemical structure groups and/or some effects on living beings.

Course Content

Properties and sources of herbal poisons, toxicity, toxicokinetics, mode of action, clinical symptoms and lesions, necropsy, diagnosis, laboratory analysis results, treatment.

LO06 Defines and classifies estrogenic plants.
LO07 Explains the sources and properties of toxic peptides and proteins, their toxicity, effect, clinical symptoms and treatment.
LO08 Identifies unusual amino acids.
LO09 Gain information about vitamin poisoning and substances that disrupt the use of vitamins.
LO10 Defines substances that impair mineral use.
LO11 Gain information about toxic fatty acids and resinous substances.
