Course Goal / Objective
This course covers cell culture techniques used in plant breeding, protoplast isolation in plants, and protoplast hybridization in plants, as well as determining the polydi levels of individuals obtained by cell culture in plant breeding.
Course Content
Cell culture in plants, media used in plant cell culture and its preparation, selection and creation of appropriate plant tissue, somatic embryogenesis, ovule culture, plant tissue selection, protoplast extraction, protoplast isolation, protoplast purification, protoplast culture, somatic hybridization, protoplast culture media, somatic hybridization methods, protoplast culture, heterokaryon culture, micro callus culture, plant regeneration from cell, flow cytometry
