Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to introduce students to the relationship between soil structure and crop yield. The functions, determination and evaluation of the soil structure are also among the main objectives of the course.

Course Content

Formation, definition and measurement methods of soil structure. Factors affecting aggregate formation and stability. Methods for determining aggregate strength and aggregate size distribution in the laboratory. Calculation and interpretation of aggregate stability. Structure-yield relations.
