Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to adapt the 4th grade students who start clinical courses to the clinic, to integrate and update the theoretical education given in preclinical classes into clinical practices.

Course Content

The content of this course; Introduction of the Automation system used during clinical applications, Definition of work accidents, their causes and prevention methods, personal protective equipment, sharps and sharps injuries, statistics on the subject and measures to be taken for their prevention Hand disinfection and patient unit preparation and cleaning principles, It constitutes the clinical interpretation of biochemical analyzes.

LO04 Explain the principles of sampling in clinical laboratories and list the stages.
LO05 List the preanalytical factors.
LO06 Interprets the effect of in vitro hemolysis on test results.
LO07 Interprets the effect of biological variation on test results.
LO08 Explaines the gastrointestinal system and carbohydrate metabolism.
LO09 Defines body fluids, tells their differences, explains the different biochemical concentrations in different body fluids.
LO10 Interprets complete blood count results and hematological tests.
