Course Goal / Objective

Soilless farming methods and all applied cultural processes are taught theoretically and practically.

Course Content

Definition of soilless agriculture, reasons for switching to soilless agriculture, reasons for starting soilless agriculture in greenhouses, history of soilless agriculture, advantages and disadvantages of soilless agriculture, nutrient solutions in soilless agriculture, water, macronutrient elements, chemical sources used, symptoms of macronutrient deficiency and excess, micronutrients. elements, chemical sources used, symptoms of micronutrient element deficiency and excess, problems related to the preparation of nutrient solution, properties sought in nutrient solutions (pH, total salt concentration, temperature, aeration), ways of delivering nutrient solutions to plants (stagnant, intermittent flow, continuous flow). , spraying, drip), nutrient solution tanks, disease and pest control, soilless farming methods, transitional cultures (cultivation in straw bales, ring culture), what is solid media, required properties, organic and inorganic media, solid media culture forms (bed culture, bag-packet and pot culture), solid media culture forms (sausage culture, rock wool culture), water cultures (still water, flowing water culture), water cultures (hyponica, aeroponics) are explained.
